Tom Horn

a.k.a. "The Regulator" Tom Horn

 "The Regulator" Tom Horn

Tom Horn was a renowned Arizona Indian Scout and a stunt man of the 1880's. Why, he could hang by his hands from a corral gate crossbar and drop onto the back of a passing mustang in full stride. His mistake was helping a town clean up the riff-raff. Known for his bullying tactics, he'd just as soon shoot ya rather than mess with ya.

After cleaning up the town, the good town folk didn't know how to get rid of The Regulator. They accused him of killing a young boy and was hung. Tom didn't die that day. He had learned a great deal from the Indians he had lived with. An old Indian Medicine Man had taught him a special meditation that would come to save his life. When the town swung that rope and dropped him through the gallows, they left him for dead. That would not be the demise of The Regulator. He still had a lot of life left in him. When he figured it safe, he left from beneath the gallows and left town. His trail brought him to Fallbrook...and this is when he hooked up with the "Outlaws."

Tom lost all faith in the good town folk and the law. He said he had a better chance dealing with gunmen and folks of questionable character, rather than with the honest and respectable town people.
